Corine Marie CoxJuly 2, 1923 ~ August 26, 2017 (age 94)
Corine (Cory) Marie Cox, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home in Merced, Ca. to be with her loving husband of 58 years Ralph. Corine was born (July 2, 1923) and raised in Stockton, California to Enrico and Edith (Logorio) Noceti. While working in the Stockton Islands, she met her future husband Ralph Cox and married on November 18, 1942. They had four daughters Jeri, Sandra, Kathy, and Royalene. Corine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine (Jeri) Hinson (Bob) of Merced, Ca; Sandra (Sandy) Soto (Dan) of Camarillo, Ca; Kathleen (Kathy) Gray (Bill) of Merced, Ca; Royalene (Susie) Mancini of Healdsburg, Ca; sister Catherine (Rina) Hitchens of Granada Hills, Ca; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Cox, mother Edith Noceti, brothers Richard Noceti (Norma); Armando Noceti (Janet), Roy Noceti, and August Noceti; and sister Esther Noceti. Corine enjoyed spending time with her family especially during special occasions and holidays. The anticipation of arriving home and greeted by the wonderful smells of her fantastic cooking will always hold fond memories, one that can never be duplicated even though we have all tried!
Some of the best memories will be of her small home filled to the brink with all ages, the smell of home cooked meals, especially her raviolis and homemade sauce, laughter, and glasses raised high in a toast to “family”. She loved to listen to music, often times joining in because she also loved to sing, in her words “singing is good for the soul”. Corine is deeply loved by all her family and will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. Corine enjoyed staying up to date on current events and loved watching her favorite SF Giants and Niners every year (Joe Montana will always be her favorite). In her late 80s, she also sparked an interest in basketball and enjoyed watching the Warriors. She was of exceptional strength in the family, ruling the household with a firm, but loving hand. No one dared to cross her line! She never judged; was the absolute best listener when it came to anyone who called her for her support, and always with an open heart that never wavered. She was full of spirit, would take on challenges (and her memory that we all would be very fortunate to have at even a lesser age)...and most always be “right”. We would especially like to thank Community Hospice of Modesto, Ca. for helping our family during this difficult time. Thank you so much!
