Eliza Nuevo EverhartMarch 22, 1921 ~ November 22, 2017 (age 96)
Eliza Nuevo Everhart was born on March 22, 1921, to the late Ambrosio and Marcela Nuevo in Manila, Philippines. She answered the call of her Heavenly Father on November 22, 2017, in Atwater, California, at the age of 96.
Growing up in the Philippines, Eliza adored spending time with her family, helping her mom cook in the kitchen and with chores, and playing with her seven siblings. On weekends, she enjoyed going to church and having relatives come over and visit.
She met the love of her life, George Everhart, while he was on assignment to the Philippines and the two were eventually married on October 29, 1948. They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage on October 29, 2017. A tour of duty took them to many places around the world, and together they had three children - Don, Elvera, and Lori. After being a homemaker and raising her children, she became an American Red Cross volunteer until she began working at the Castle Air Force Base Child Development Center as Lead Caregiver in the infant room for twenty-two years.
Eliza was born again of the spirit at the age of 62, when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her natural gift of hospitality led her to serving as a greeter, prayer team member, feeding and clothing the hungry, cooking for fellowships, and especially spreading her love to all who knew her. Her most cherished times were spent with her family. Eliza especially enjoyed the holidays and gathering with her three children, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Eliza will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever live in our hearts. Until we meet again…Mahal Kita.
