Douglas Carl Hamilton was born in San Francisco, California July 15, 1961 to Ted Hamilton and Marine Evans, He was affectionately called “Dougie” by his family and friends. He was the second oldest of nine children. At the age of eleven, his family relocated to Merced, California. He was baptized at an early age. He was a graduate of Merced High School. Douglas had a strong passion for helping people. He began his career working in the medical field, as a Certified Nursing Assistant and his most recent position as a Home Health Aide.
Douglas was a loyal and caring person with a trusting heart and a great sense of humor. He was full of love, peace and joy, which left a heartfelt impression on everyone he came in contact with. His warm smile and demeanor always made people around him feel welcomed. He loved music, dancing, bingo, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and made himself accessible to them at all times.
He is survived by his mother, Marine Evans of Merced, California, siblings, Daniel Hamilton of Merced, California, Monica Jones of Merced, California, Georgina Tolliver of Forney, Texas, Nanica Richard of Forney, Texas, Clinton Domossi Scoggins of Fresno, California and Nasila Robles of Louisville, Kentucky as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ted Hamilton, brother Dexter Young and his sister, Sara Scoggins.
