Edward “Eddie” Rios, a Livingston, CA resident passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the age of 66 years. Eddie was born on April 7, 1952 in Merced, CA to Concepcion & Jesse Rios. Eddie is survived by his siblings: Marie Pacheco (Ignacio); Abel Jesse (Elizabeth); George (Margie); Kathy Sapien; and Dario Rios. He is also survived by his Estrada, Linan, Bustamonte, Mesa, Montes, and Cervantes families.
Eddie attended Livingston High School and was a proud member of the Wolfpack. Every year he would attend the annual LHS All Alumni Reunion in Livingston. He had many hobbies and interest, one being gardening. He would plant tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini and maintain the fruit trees in his yard. He couldn’t wait to pick the vegetables and fruits to share with the family and friends. He wouldn’t admit it but he had a passion for cooking. He made the best beef barbecoa underground & carnitas. At family gatherings, he would make delicious chalupas, enchiladas, or mole. Anyone who visited him, never left hungry. Eddie would never miss the new episodes of CSI and Grey’s Anatomy. Every morning, Eddie would go to True Value, a local store in Livingston, to have his morning coffee with the employees and have interesting conversations. He also enjoyed having breakfast with Ruby and Zarel every Saturday mornings at Foster Farms Café. Eddie loved playing casino games with his Niece Tatiana on her tablet.
He looked forward to the annual Estrada Breakfast fundraising event in which he participated as a cook wearing his Estrada Family apron proudly; to the Estrada Family Reunions, and many other family celebrations. Eddie met many people throughout his life and helped influence each one individually; whether it was in a small or big way.
His memory will be celebrated at Ivers & Alcorn in Atwater, CA. Eddie’s viewing will be held on Thursday, June 14 from 5:30 to 8 pm, with Rosary commencing at 7 pm. Mass will be held on Friday, June 15 at St. Anthony’s Church in Atwater, CA at 10 am.
