Judy Mounts, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and overall beautiful person was born on March 10, 1951 in Turlock, California and passed away August 21, 2018 in Merced, California. Judy lived most of her life in Merced County, with a brief few years in McMinnville, Tennessee. She attended school in Livingston and went on to Merced College. As a young woman, she devoted her life to her husband and children. After that season in her life, she became a vocational teacher at Merced Adult School where she discovered a new passion: teaching. Judy loved people and embraced teaching with her whole heart, oftentimes developing lasting bonds with her students. After becoming widowed in 1999, she became a fearless traveler and made it a point to go on at least two trips a year, sometimes more. Between major trips, she traveled within the state with her beloved grandchildren, sharing with them her love of adventure. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she devoted her retirement to spending time with them.
Judy had a sense of welcome about her and people were drawn to her gracious acceptance of others. Although she has passed and will be greatly missed, Judy left an indelible mark on all those she came across.
Judy is survived by her mother, Flora Vickery; her children, Sean and Stefanie Mounts and Heather (Mounts) Hendrickson; her grandchildren, Juliana Slagter, Shauna Mounts, William Slagter, Sheldon Mounts, and Joshua Hendrickson; her siblings, Lonnie Vickery, Vickie Mounts, and Allen Vickery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mounts and her father, Roy Vickery.
