In loving Memory
The family of Lois Jimenez (nee Haywood) compassionately share the sad news of her passing. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family September 9th in Merced California. Lois was a committed Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother ( and Great Great Grandmother.) Lois was passionate about her community and genealogy work. As a dedicated volunteer she impacted numerous organizations. Including; Merced County Genealogical society, Los Califonianos, Merced County Courthouse Museum, Merced County Historical Society, The Merced Cemetery District,The Merced Senior Community Center and proud CEO of Merced Family Tree Climber LTD. Lois was pivotal in the placement of a local historical monument of pioneer John Rogers at the Merced Cemetery. She was a proud 4th Generation native Californian from the Arzaga line. As a resident of Merced for over 75 years she touched many lives with her tenacious spirit, quick wit and warmth. She was a fixture and brought local color to her job as a long standing waitress at The Pinecone Restaurant and The Branding Iron. Her heart was always with animals and was a supporter of local animal organizations.
Lois is survived by Jackie Haywood(daughter). Grandchildren, Mike Mitchell, Amy Mitchell, and Mia Finn.
Spouses Melody, Angela and John. Great Grandchildren Zachary Mitchell, Sophia Finn, Mika Mitchell, Daniel Finn and Great Great Granddaughter Stephanie Mitchell. Lois has numerous loved “chosen” family members.
Lois had many close friends; however, we would like to take this opportunity to thank one Arleene Haywood for her friendship to Lois and help this past week.
She’s predeceased by her husband Frank Jimenez, and daughter Sydney Birdsong Jimenez. In Lieu of flowers please make donations in Lois's name to the Merced County Historical Society
