ADA L. BARCELLOS

Ada Lorene Harding Barcellos

June 1, 1936 -September 2, 2023

Lorene Barcellos of Atwater, was born in Beeville, Texas to Robert Earl and Ada Harding on June 1, 1936 and passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023 in Merced, at the age of 87.

Lorene was one of seven children and spent her early childhood years in her small hometown in Texas before her family relocated to Central California. Lorene attended Livingston High School in Livingston, CA before meeting her husband Manuel Barellos Jr. 

Lorene was the ultimate Soccer Mom before there was such a thing. Hauling around 4 boys to Baseball games and practices, all on different teams, took up most of her spare time. Lorene spent her working years at Davis Cannery & Foster Farms. When her working career had come to an end, her role as a cherished grandmother was just beginning. Most of her days were now devoted to the care and nurturing of her grandchildren, something she enjoyed immensely. 

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ada Harding, her Husband Manuel Barcellos, her sisters Annie Jane Harding, Shirley Jones, her brothers Roy Harding, Rex Harding and her grandson Timmy Post. She is survived by her Sons Manuel (Robyn) Barcellos, Richard Barcellos, Dennis (Kim) Barcellos, Steve (Maria) Barcellos, her sisters Millie Sullivan, and Norene Phillips. Also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Winton Cemetery District in Winton, California on September 22, 2023 at 11:00 am.
