ANGELA TERESE RONSON, age 51, died on Friday, March 26th, 2021 in her hometown of Merced, CA. Angela achieved many successes in her education early on in life, receiving her MA in Early Childhood Special Educations from San Francisco State University in 1994, her BA in Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus in 1989, and her AA in Business with honors from Merced College in 1988. A dedicated educator, Angela’s career as a behavioral interventionist and early childhood education specialist took her to a variety of new locations, including Valley Mountain Regional Center and United Cerebral Palsy in Stockton, CA, and Sierra County Mental Health in Downieville, CA. She grew up active in the Catholic Church, being baptized at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atwater, confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, and was a participant in Spirit Alive and Christians in Action as a teenager.
Angela’s life was dedicated to helping better the lives of others. She was passionate for working with disabled children and was genuinely interested in seeing them grow and learn. Later in her life, she was a successful blogger and published author, with her writings on traumatic brain injury survivor advocacy gaining worldwide recognition. Her greatest passion, however, was spending time with her two daughters, Sarah Alyce Daneri, 25, and Marina Pauline Garcia, 26. She enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping with Sarah’s father Edward M. Daneri and travelling with Marina’s father Vincent R. Garcia III. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading science fiction and fantasy novels, cooking, playing the guitar, and tinkering with muscle cars. Growing up, her favorite pastime was spending time with her favorite cousin Michael Boyer, doing nerdy things like playing 8-bit video games, dressing up in elaborate Halloween costumes, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Angela was the eldest of 4 daughters born to Myra P. Nord-Metz and Robert D. Ronson in Atwater, California at Bloss Memorial on Monday, January 19th, 1970. Angela is survived by her mother Myra P. Nord-Metz, with Angela lovingly referring to herself as her mother’s “mini-me” or “twin;” her father, Robert D. Ronson, who graciously provided ongoing care and support of his daughter; her step-father Alan R. Metz; her sister Carla D. Mahaffey and her brother-in-law, Jeffrey A. Mahaffey, who helped share the responsibility of raising her girls when she needed it, side by side with nieces Megan C. Mahaffey and Fionna L. Mahaffey; sisters Gina P. Ronson and Vanessa M. Mejia, brother-in-law Miguel Mejia, her 10 nieces and nephews, and her greatest joys in life, daughters Sarah A. Daneri and Marina P. Garcia and granddaughter Layla D. Abasta.
