CELINE MARIE PERSAK

Celine Marie Persak, 90, of Atwater, California, passed away on July 1, 2023. She was born on September 19, 1932, in Wausau, WI, to Joseph and Marie Kleinheinz. Celine was a loving and generous person.  She always brought joy to those around her and had a positive outlook on life.

She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her love for her family knew no bounds. Celine is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth and Kathryn Persak, her son Michael Persak (Rose Ann), her granddaughters Giselle and Gabrielle Persak, and her sister Eileen Lopuszynski.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Kenneth Persak, her parents and her siblings Rev. Joseph, Jerry, Eleanor, Lauretta, Anna Mae, Jane, Vernita, Elizabeth, Sr. Clarice, and Sr. Lucille.

She was the Secretary to the Director of Human Resources at Merced County until retiring in 1999.

Celine had a strong faith and was actively involved in her community. While stationed overseas, she taught Sunday School, and she served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony's Church for many years.

In her free time, Celine enjoyed reading and going to the gym. After retiring, she volunteered at the hospital, library, and schools. She also indulged her passion for singing by joining the Sweet Adeline's Merced chapter. Celine had a love for theater and enjoyed attending Broadway shows in New York and San Francisco.

A rosary and mass service will be held at St. Anthony’s Church in Atwater, 1799 Winton Way starting at 0930 on July 24th.  Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery 1480 B street, Merced California following the church services.  There will be a memorial service held at Ivers and Alcorn funeral Home, 901 W. Main Street, Merced California on July 24th from 2 to 4 pm.

Celine will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit of generosity, kindness, and positivity will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
