It is with the saddest regret that we announce the death of Donald Joseph Hoffmann after a recent and courageous battle with cancer. Born October 29, 1941 - Died October 19, 2021. He grew up in Iowa and joined the Navy at age 17, and proudly served his country for four years. He then married his first wife Dorothy Heitter. They relocated from Iowa to California, and had two daughters; Debbie & Staci.
Don worked for John Deere, and later at Gaestel Ford. He then went to work for Merced County, where he eventually retired after 30 years of service. He met Diana Ormand with whom he spent the rest of his life. Together they enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, and visiting friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diana; His daughters Debbie (Ray) Wilson; Staci (Tony) Martinez; Grandchildren Krista Martinez and Justin Martinez; Stepdaughters Karen (Cary) Brent and Kelly (Karl) Kendrick; Grandchildren Mackenzie & Adam Stoltz, and Emily & Ryan Kendrick. Don's family would like to remember him for his good-natured humor and laid-back demeanor. He will be dearly missed. Please join us in celebrating his life and HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY on Friday, October 29 at The Branding Iron Restaurant's Crystal Room at 1:30 pm.
