Despite being hospitalized with polio at the age of eight and dealing with post-polio syndrome for the rest of her life, she never let it stop her from achieving what she wanted in life. Later she became a waitress at Blueberry Hill Cafe in Livingston CA. and Traveler's Cafe in Atwater CA. Once Evelyn married her second husband Albert "Red" Campbell she became a homemaker and the queen of his castle, who he spoiled. They enjoyed traveling, going camping on their property in Grass Valley, hunting and fishing. Whatever they were doing, they loved doing it together. Later in life while with her significant other Larry Alley, she worked in the cafeteria at McSwain elementary school.
Evelyn leaves behind her son, Bobby Victor and three daughters, Synthia Ripley, Geralin Campbell Smith and Rita O'Hare; five grandchildren, Felecia (Cary) Dent, Oz (Misty) Smith, Khyla Smith (Garrett Christopherson), Ry Smith, and Tovie Barnett; thirteen great grandchildren, Levi Dent, Maci (Brandon) Smith, Oztin Smith, Cassie Smith, Gavin Christopherson, Jada Christopherson, Owen Christopherson, Cooper Smith, Annabelle, Joshua Horne, Jessi Barnett, Jeremy Cardwell and Noah Cardwell; as well as two great great grandsons, James Barnett and Rylee Horne. She is also survived by two older brothers, Melvin (Elsie) Trindade and Arnold "Shorty" Trindade and her baby sister, Janet Jamero; along with brothers-in-law, Lawrence "Bud" Tate and Donald Walker; plus many nieces and nephews.
