December 8, 1950 ~ December 17, 2021 (age 71)


Gary Alan Boyer (known to many as Papa), age 71, passed away Friday, December 17th, 2021, at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA.  Services will be held as follows: Viewing at Ivers & Alcorn Wednesday January 12th from 4pm to 8pm, Rosary at St. Patrick’s Church Thursday at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s at 10 am.  There will be a celebration of life gathering in the St. Patrick’s Hall following the mass.  He will be interned at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. 

            Gary was born December 8, 1950, in Pekin, Il.  He lived in Merced, CA for the past 16 years.  He was a retired Sr. Project Manager from Bernard’s, a construction company he worked at for almost 25 years.  Prior to that he worked for American Savings Bank as a project manager for the REO department and this allowed him to travel a lot, and he started out owning his own construction company Boyer & Assoc.   Gary was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Airforce.  He fought in the Vietnam War.  He was one of the most giving people you could ever know.  He loved to crack jokes and play pranks on his family.  Finally, his hobbies included wood working, construction, traveling and fishing. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Sherwin (Sherry) Boyer, Father Orville F. Boyer, Mother Loraine M Saylor-Boyer, Brother Paul Boyer, and ex-wife Charlene R. Boyer.  He is survived by his brother Larry T. Boyer & spouse Lou, children - Richard Boyer & spouse Toni, Renee Myre-Boyer, Ron Boyer, Bonnie Patterson, Nicole Fonda, Bob Boyer & spouse Pam, he had 12 grandchildren, Rachel, Nicholas, Alex, Aaron, Jacob, Rebekah, Sarah, Aspen, Justin, Cheyenne, Allison, and Ben as well as four great grandchildren
