Jim passed away the morning of December 29 at his home in LeGrand, CA. He was 75 and had suffered from heart failure and several other serious health problems for some time. Jim was a friendly man with many friends. He was witty with a unique sense of humor. He had many interests, including a hobby of making jewelry with diamonds and other rare stones. He was interested in history and genealogy. He collected rare and vintage books. Jim was a great golfer, and enjoyed deep sea fishing for salmon and halibut, in the Pacific Northwest.
He graduated from Merced High School in 1964, then received a degree in Agronomy from California Polytechnic State University in 1968. He worked for DelMonte Canning Co. for several years. He worked for Dean Witter and was trained to be an investment analyst. Most recently he worked as a Pest Control Advisor for Mid Valley Agricultural Services in Livingston, CA.
He is survived by his daughter Jill (Paul), granddaughters Amanda, Carley, Cassidy, and great granddaughter, Teagan; his son Jake (Sandy); brother Barry, and sister, Diane. He is also survived by his beloved Springer Spaniel, Reesa. She was a loyal companion to Jim who stayed close by him, even as he took his last breath. He will be missed by family and friends.
