Jimmie Lois Armstrong, age 82, of Merced, California, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020. She was born to Lawrence Crayton and Norvell Sandifer on February 6, 1938 in Prescott, Arkansas. On September 3, 1961, Jimmie Lois Crayton and William Curtis Armstrong were married. In this union, they were blessed with two daughters: Debra Armstrong and Caroline DePina. In addition, she was also blessed with four children Barbara Britt, William C. Armstrong Jr., Bruce Armstrong, and Robert Armstrong. Jimmie was the most loving being you could come across, she always had kind words to say and never left anyone out. She knew how to stretch a meal to make sure that there was enough for everyone. She loved to cook, sing hymns, go to church, and most of all she loved the Lord. Jimmie was known for her beautiful smile and calm spirit, it didn’t matter who you were, she made sure to greet you and brighten your day. Those who knew her would often hear her say, “The Lord would never leave nor forsake me”.
We will remember her as loving, generous, kind, wise, tenderhearted, understanding, supportive, and truly an angel that walked on this earth. Jimmie was a friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. From her 6 children, Jimmie gained 32 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 32 great-great grandchildren, and 10 godchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband (William C Armstrong), her siblings (Bessie, Joyce, Sunny, and Gloria), her daughter (Caroline DePina), her son’s (Bruce Armstrong and Robert Armstrong), and granddaughter (Charity DePina).
She is survived by her daughters (Debra Armstrong and Barbara Britt), her son (William C Armstrong Jr)., and her sisters (Johnnie Brown and Dorothy Williams).
