Natividad "Nate" Bocanegra

Natividad “Nate” Bocanegra passed away on June 9, 2023 in Turlock, California at the age of 87.

Nate was born in Mercedes, Texas on September 10, 1935.  While raising a family with his wife Margaret, he spent nearly 40 years working as a carpenter and sub-contractor. He was a member of the Carpenters Union #1235 for 35 years, was a member of the Latin American Club and helped make the Arkalian Park benches.

Nate is preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Juana. Also, Ernestro Bocanegraa, Jimmy Bocanegra, Juan Bocenegra, Felix Bocanegra, Ninfa Moreno, Angela Garza, Demetrio Bocanegra, Jr and Angelina Hernandez.

Left to share Nate’s memory are his wife, Margaret; Children Domingo Bocanegro, Jesse Bocanegra and Rosa Sharp, 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Also remembering Nate are, Celestino Bocanegra, Maria Hernandez and Terresa Urrutia.

Visitation will be held at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, 901 W. Main St. in Merced on Thursday June 22, 2023 from 4pm-8pm, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.

Mass of Christion Burial will be at the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, 330 Franci St. in Livingston at 11am on Friday June 23. Burial will follow at Winton Cemetery District.
