NICK JR. PEREZ
APRIL 5th 1965 – OCTOBER 15th 2020
Nick was born to Dionysio Perez (father) and Rosie Perez (Martinez) on April 5th, 1965 in Merced, California.
Nick is preceded in death by his sister Victoria Huerta, his Dad John Martinez and granddaughter Haley Reyna. Nick is survived by his mother, Rosie Martinez. His daughters, Melanie Perez, Gloria Perez, Delila Perez, Katrina Perez and 16 grandchildren. Nick also leaves behind, his sisters Elida Hawkins, Sofie Coriell, Vicky Rodriguez, Frances Perez, Rosemarie Layton, PJ Loewen and brother Dennis Perez. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nick will be truly missed by countless family and friends who love him dearly.
Nick worked in varying professional fields from metal fabrication to printing, but his passion was food. Nick was in the food and beverage industry for over 30 years where he worked as a Chef. Nick was also a caregiver to his mother for many years and his presence will be sorely missed here at home.
Nick truly and deeply loved all of his daughters so much! We shared many conversations about his love for his girls and he was extremely proud of all his grandchildren. Whenever the chance arose, he would say, “16. I have 16 grandbabies!” Making the trek with brother Dennis to watch his grandchildren play football and soccer were some of Nick’s fondest memories. He was and is a very proud father and grandfather.
Nick was a huge football and baseball fan. He loved the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco Giants. Nick also loved spending time with his mom watching tv shows. They would watch the Price is Right, Family Feud and the Young and the Restless. Well, to be honest, he would watch the Young and the Restless by himself. Before his dad John passed, this was something they enjoyed watching together. They were both such fans of the show! Nick also enjoyed watching cooking shows and trying out recipes. He loved spending time with our pups, Mocha and Big Moe. These pups will certainly miss him!
Those who truly knew Nick, know that he is a dancing king! He loved to dance at parties and loved to make people laugh. After hearing many stories from others over the past couple of days, Nick is the embodiment of Love. Nick truly loved his family and friends and loved spending time with each and every one of them. Nick is so loved by many and will be deeply missed. Nick will always be affectionately known as Brother Love.
Nick, every time I see one of your pictures it absolutely breaks me inside. It was supposed to be me and you taking care of your mom for eternity. There are so many things I should have expressed while you were still here with us. Now you’ve gone to be with Johnson at the “resting cabin in the sky” but please always know this is your home. Me and your mom miss you so much! Sheeshka!
I AM ALWAYS WITH YOU – author unknown
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love and you can only guess
How much you’ve given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and say “Welcome Home”
