Obituary

Ofelia Luisa Ebker, 90 passed away on Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced, California.  She was born on October 11th, 1930 in San Miguelito, Nicaragua to Gilberto & Lola Chavarria.  She was raised with 6 siblings in Central America.

She came to the United States in 1960.  She met the love of her life in San Francisco, California.  Ofelia married Philip Ebker in 1961 and they were happily married for over 51 years.  They raised 3 children in California.  Ofelia loved family and was a dedicated & loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Ofelia was a devoted Catholic who loved God and her church.  She worked at Wood Fruit Company for over 20 years where she met and enjoyed many long-term friendships.  Ofelia was a warm, patient, kind and loving person who was hard working, dedicated and who loved her husband with all her heart…he was her everything.  She had many interests & hobbies such as gardening, camping, swimming, and dancing.

She is survived by her children Cecile Ebker of Modesto, California, Phillip (Vicky) Ebker of Umatilla, Oregon, and Mary Lou (Rick) Williams of Carmel, Indiana as well as 7 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ebker was preceded in death by her husband, Philip, grandson Richard “Richy” Williams, her parents, Gilberto & Lola Chavarria; and 5 of her siblings.

With COVID-19 Restrictions no more than 10 people inside the Funeral Home Chapel, Church and Cemetery for services. Face Masks are required.
