Patricia Ann (Lippmeier) Nicholson, passed away peacefully after a brief but serious illness on January 22, 2021. Patricia was born June 13, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest daughter of her loving parents William “Bill” Lippmeier and Lucille Danielson Lippmeier.
Growing up through the elementary school years in the suburbs of Chicago, Patricia was fond of the outdoors, nature and took a special interest in competitive swimming. She moved to the Bay Area in California with her family in 1976, attending Lindbrook High School in Sunnyvale. She loved family activities which continued to focus on the outdoors with picnics, camping, BBQs, mountain hikes and trips to the beach, which included her favorite destination, Santa Cruz.
After graduation, she worked for a computer company while attending West Valley Community College, earning an AA Degree in 1988. One of her favorite studies was astronomy and she developed a budding interest in Astrology as well. After working for an architectural design firm for a couple years, she relocated to the Central Valley where her parents had moved and attended California State University, Stanislaus, receiving a BS Degree in 1992. Her continued interest in nature and the outdoors led her to begin Graduate studies in the field of Limnology, and she took the challenging step to attend the University of Sweden, Uppsala where she learned about aquatic environments including frozen ponds and creeks.
Upon her return from Sweden, Patricia began a career in local government in the fields of economic development and planning. She was employed by the Cities of Merced and Grass Valley, and the Counties of Merced and Mariposa over her local government career. During this period, she fell in love with William “Bill” Nicholson, and they wed in 2003, moving into a house just outside the City of Merced. During this time her lifelong interest in Astrology and spirituality became a passion and Patricia and her husband pursued a variety of spiritual studies and programs over the years, including completion of a two-year Master’s Certificate in Energy Medicine in 2010 from the Academy of Intuition Medicine in Sausalito.
With the passion for learning still burning, Patricia began a decade long study of Astrology in programs throughout California and through the internet. Her studies included courses with many leading Astrologers, and eventually she received a Diploma from the International Academy of Astrology and had begun teaching introductory classes shortly before she became ill. For her most recent endeavor, she headed directly into the heavens where she mingles with the planets and stars as she continues to soar in the spiritual realm.
Patricia is survived by two sisters and a brother with three nieces and a nephew, and her extended family consisting of two stepsons and their growing families with three grandchildren.
There will be a private service for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
