Pearl Mae Bollinger, age 80, of Fresno passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her home in the morning hours of Thursday, November 19, 2020. She was one month shy of her 81st birthday.
Pearl was born on December 19, 1939 in Edinburgh, Texas. Her family moved from state to state following the harvesting of crops during the Great Depression. Pearl spent the majority of her life working as a waitress. She worked at Klein/s Truck Stop in Fresno during the 1970's and 80's.
As an adult, her food pantry was always well stocked in case anyone needed food or a meal. No one ever left her house hungry.
Pearl leaves behind 5 wonderful and strong daughters: Barbara Ann Bailey-Cruz and her partner Eppie Gonzalez of Squaw Valley CA, Betty Sue Bailey currently of Custer SD, Bernice Inez Bailey and her husband Rick Horn of Fresno CA, Brenda Elaine Bailey of Fresno CA, Bonnie Freemae Bailey-Swanson of Portland TN, 6 handsome grandsons, 2 beautiful grand daughters and 1 handsome great grandson. She also leaves 3 brothers: John Gray and wife Teresa of PA, Bobby Ethridge and wife Charlene of KY and Edward Ethridge and wife Kathleen of KY. She was proceeded in death by her sister Louise Lozano, and brothers Eddie Gray and Mel Ethridge. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services are being arranged by Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced. Graveside services will be held at the Plainsburg Cemetery in Plainsburg. It will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11AM.
Reading the tribute to her life will be her longtime, not legally adopted, daughter and close family friend, Cathy King-Butler of Ballico CA. Opening and closing prayers will be offered by Bible Christian Church of Le Grand.
