SARA RAMIREZ

Sara Ramirez (11/03/1929-08/21/2023) was born in Stockton, CA to Asuncion Salce and Fernando Ramirez.  She and her parents returned to Mexico during the Great Depression.  Sara resided there until she was 27 years old and returned to California to raise her daughter Maria.  Sara loved her family and was dedicated and devoted to them.  She is preceded in death by her parents Asuncion Salce and Fernando Ramirez, her siblings Gilberto Ramirez, Juan Ramirez, Socorro Ramirez, Margarita Ramirez, and Guadalupe Ramirez.  She is survived by her sister Josefina Ramirez, her daughter Maria DeLeon, son in law Victor DeLeon, granddaughter Andrea DeLeon-Vega, grandson in law Jorge DeLeon-Vega and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by all.  The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the loving, caring and devoted staff of Franciscan Post Acute Care Center and Hinds Hospice, we are eternally grateful that you all loved her as your own.  

A viewing will be held Thursday, September 14th from 4-6 p.m. at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home located at 901 W. Main St., Merced, CA. A rosary and funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 15th with the rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m., mass at 10:00 a.m., at the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus located at 330 Franci St., Livingston, CA.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Merced, CA .  A gathering at Isabella’s Restaurant at 2851 Shaffer Ave., Atwater, CA, following graveside services.
