Theresa M. Aguilar

Theresa Marie Aguilar, of Merced, California, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2023. She was born on October 3, 1951 in Merced, CA to Frank (Francisco) Cerda and Julia (Espinoza) Cerda. As a child she lived in Planada for a short time and her family moved to LeGrand. She attended Merced College and Sonoma State University. She met Richard Aguilar and on July 12, 1980 they got married. They had 2 children. She dedicated a little over 30 years with Merced City Schools District, first at Peterson Elementary School and then transferred to Gracy Elementary School. She also enjoyed selling Mary Kay cosmetics. She loved her jobs. During her free time she loved singing. She sang in her church choir at St. Patrick's Parish and last year joined the Merced College community choir. She also loved to dance. She loved her family, friends, and the animals. She is preceded in death by her sister Emily Cerda Flood. She is survived by her mother Julia (Espinoza) Cerda, sister Patricia Cerda, husband Richard Aguilar, daughter Franchesca and son Laurence. Her funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's Parish on October 18, 2023 at 10:30am.
