Yolanda Zambrano Herrera went to be with the Lord peacefully from Merced, California at the age of 66.
Yolanda was born in Anson, Texas on Jan 18th, 1954. She was the youngest of 14 children born to Antonio and Maria (Rangel) Zambrano. She moved with her family as a very young child to Cressey California.
She is preceded in death by her father Antonio Zambrano, mother Maria Rangel Zambrano, Her eldest Son Trini Miranda, sister’s Estela Ibarra and Lorenza Seballos, brother Gumercindo Zambrano. She is survived by her loving husband Jose Luis Lopez of 23 years.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by daughter Katalina Zambrano and son Angel Zambrano. Grandchildren Joseph Anthony Miranda, Logan Trini Herrera, and Shea Herrera: Brothers Antonio Zambrano, Juan Zambrano, Patricio Zambrano, Enrique Zambrano, Benito Zambrano, and Joe Zambrano; and Sisters Fidela Garcia, Rufina Tehandon, Maria Serna, and Velia Montes.
Yolanda,was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandma. She was extremely proud of her family and often expressed Much gratitude for the blessings of each and every one of them! Yolanda truly loved and looked forward to traveling to Texas and Indiana annually to visit her family. Yolanda leaves behind countless memories and a beautiful legacy of love and laughter. Yolanda graduated from Livingston High School and Merced College. She worked for the Atwater Unified School District at several of the Atwater Elementary schools for close to 30 joyous and happy years. While working for the school district Yolanda did a lot of community and volunteer work. She helped families get free medical screening at school. Yolanda got many donations for many school fundraisers and helped get computers donated to various schools in Atwater. She helped lots of families in need with meals and clothing. Yolanda helped with a special program Parents as teachers, where she personally went to homes to help prepare children for the upcoming school year. Yolanda also translated for non- english speaking families. Yolanda has been called the face of the school....because her face was the first you saw when you walked into the office. Yolanda loved her “extended family'' which are the ladies who worked beside her at the Atwater schools. Yolanda was very loved by students, staff and the entire community as a whole!
